Courtly Meme

[personal profile] 1800 2019-01-09 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I also deleted The Courtly meme that was posted on 6th of January. There were only 16 toplevels in it.

A similar meme, Companion to Royalty meme was posted two days earlier.

TFLN is up in the AM hours again this week, the same as it was last week.

Kind of makes it difficult for people who can't post until they're off work to participate.

It was posted at 1pm est. Bakerstreet runs on est time, unless I'm mistaken?

That is a bit of a borderline case to me, at least by bakerstreet levels of NSFW.

That said, I can get in touch with the poster.

Something I do want to ask though, considering the above image - would these other images that have been used previously also trip your nsfw line? (All links lead to bakerstreet memes)

guys, please please please make new rules about repost timing unless it's "popular" or similar in any sense memes. it's flooding and getting ridiculous, especially with niche memes like the robot shipping one EVERY WEEK. it should be monthly, at best.

any time a tumblr person comes along they go "oh it's all shipping/same stuff" the same with anyone else new to dwrp AND people already in it. please just curate things a little more already. hell, if you want someone to approve posts i'll do it. i'll give you paid accounts, whatever

what do you guys need to do this and limit posting, especially of extra niche or samey memes?

(Anonymous) 2019-02-08 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
backing this up, i'll happily pitch in or whatever's needed, there needs to be some level of curation beyond "not too many texting memes".

Ty

Tfln

(Anonymous) 2019-03-02 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Is there any way in which we can maybe make it that when tfln is posted, two posts are put up at the same time? (That way they are neatly together on the page, yay for neatness.)

Then make it a rule that once the first one hits 2500 comments, all new top levels must be made to the second post. That way there is less chance for either to hit captcha and they would both still get more traffic on Saturday.

Just an idea from someone who thinks a regular overflow kind of stops a lot of people from still tagging top levels posted on the original post.
1800: (janeausten)

[personal profile] 1800 2019-03-05 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't brushed your idea aside, I've just been giving it some thought. Maybe I'll put up a mod post about it tomorrow when I have more time.

Was the intimate bathing meme just randomly deleted?

(Anonymous) 2019-03-04 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
yeah. they made a post about it but it's stupid. The public showers is a completely different type of vibe from intimate bathing by just 'public' and 'intimate'. There's some overkill in policing memes now.

I guess people could say there's enough difference, just like 'public shower' and 'intimate bathing' are different. Maybe the interspecies meme should include robots in the prompts?

Can you guys ban people who do this? They're just loading TLH up with bs memes to get around the one meme per day per user rule, and they're breaking TLH rules as well.

Re: https://bakerstreet.dreamwidth.org/5589425.html

(Anonymous) 2019-03-07 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
+1

if it's one meme being crossposted, that's fine, but they're essentially dumping 5+ memes up that can't be reposted on bakerstreet (a different poster who usually tries to post the in heat/rut meme did that with a couple with then makes both of those unpostable for a bit) and it's getting annoying. if i want to play on tlh, i'll play on tlh. shoving tlh into bakerstreet is not the way to go. if people want to play on tlh, they will. crossposting every meme onto here is not cool, it's annoying, and it does, like the other anon said, break the rules of both comms. one meme at a time? sure, cool. just like the fort anon memes that get posted. but this is bull.

the picture prompt/shipping prompt memes are ones that are switched between on thursdays. it's thursday. the other meme having a similar one-off prompt that's not actually part of the scheduled posting isn't fault of the people posting on schedule.

it would be really nice if you guys would talk to whoever's posting the smutty picture prompt meme. it USED to be sunday smutty picture prompt. now it's saturday and they're still pushing it to be on friday night. maybe stop it for a full week and restart on the sunday. the break would be nice and resetting the actual timeline would also be nice. and it might give people the notion they'll have to follow the guidelines more. meme_maid has frequently done this and it was annoying when it first started and it's annoying months later. they're pushing it and no one's calling them on it. it was sunday. it should go back to sunday. and they should be asked to stop posting for a bit, or reminded to vary their times, like they were supposed to.

Sometimes, copy-pasting coding will do odd things to the HTML code, resulting in hard to read/see memes if you use a dark default background.

It doesn't affect comm users if they use light skins or regular skins, but can end up with posts that look like this:
