would someone please talk to this poster about not posting on the same day as the smutty picture prompt meme. i mentioned this on the last post, but this is actually a decent meme and they are either ruining the potential of it by posting it on the same day as the scheduled meme, or they're doing it as a shitty attempt to try to overshadow it.

it was posted on the wednesday a few weeks ago and it got a much better reception then, but they keep redoing it on a sunday, and this is just getting dumb. like i said before, i actually like this meme and it's annoying as hell to see it posted on the same day as one that's as similar to it as it is. please ask them to change the day and/or make it every other week instead of trying to shove yet another meme into a schedule that it doesn't need to be on.

But in the future, I do encourage players to contact meme posters themselves. If you (general you) are using a sock account to do so, there shouldn't be any problems. And if somebody objects to being asked to add a title or to put NSFW images under a cut, then it's worth reporting them.

I'll add to say that I mean simple requests such as my examples above.

However, blocking a site is possible through add-ons such as Stayfocused (Chrome) or BlockSite (Firefox/chrome)


Also IP blocking is not a feature offered by dreamwidth, nor do we track user IPs. There's also the possibility that different people share the same IP address so that's not a viable solution.

hey, guys, could you maybe make a rule to limit image/gifs in meme posts (not comments, obviously) to one (maybe two) tops? it's getting ridiculous sometimes with the number of images people put on.

If you're that bothered by gifs, block them. I understand some people have bandwidth caps (I'm one of them), but the comm has rules against image sizes, not amounts. Why not complain about the rules being broken, like people not putting long prompts under cuts like they're asked to, or images that break the layouts. Sorry, anon, but your bandwidth problem is yours, not the comm's.

not a real problem or concern, but can you tell whomever always posts the voice testing one to put the title in bold somewhere visible? even after i've put someone on it and i'm aware what it is, i often scroll right past it because my brain doesn't even realize what it is. all you have to go on is the mic and i know myself (and others) typically adblock images. it's a great meme that i think should definitely get more use and play but i think a lot of people don't even realize what it is because we all just scroll on!

please remind or ask the poster to redo the roll call meme and link it to fort anon. there's a reason it's done that way and it's generally to avoid one person posting a thread header who other people don't want to reply to and not being able to avoid that without having to make an entirely new header.
