Perhaps this has fallen to the wayside, but a lot of memes did state to leave a comment with name/canon and preferences which should include that kind of information (be it for shipping reasons, character info, etc).

Or at least, that has always been my assumption for that inclusion. Though there is a chance that is hasn't been included because it was one of those "rules" that were thought to be understood by most players

Which isn't exactly what you're addressing, given that this is a specific case and has seemed to resolve itself?
