It has been some time since one of these last were up, and there are several things we'll like to bring up:

First, we would like to thank the people who have occasionally bought paid time for the community.

Second, just a quick reminder of some rules:

• The comm runs on EST time, so take that into account when posting please.
• Do include the comm name you're linking to when making crossposts, as this makes it easier to see everything at a glance
• When posting multiple memes, the limit is two per post.
• The two weeks rule for posting counts by adding 14 days after the day posted. Say you posted on the 10^th, the next time the meme can go up would be the 24^th. The posting day does not count as one of the 14 days

For memes that break the rules, if there are few comments, we will likely just contact the poster and delete the post in question. Otherwise, we will just contact the poster know.

However since this has never been laid out explicitly before - we're thinking of fully implementing a consequence system that starts with warnings, before soft banning. Say 1 warning, then a 3 month ban. Repeated behaviour will result in longer bans afterwards.

Third, if anyone has input towards combination memes versus individual memes such some of the specific shipping memes (ie. Opposites attract vs cheerful/grumpy & light/dark individually), or some of the picture prompt memes that have been coming up. I know some of them have been combined, though we still have ones that are separated.

For example, there's the recent ship texts meme that seems to have come up for Valentine's day, would any of you enjoy other holiday memes?

Another suggestion that there be some kind of sexts from last night meme separate from the regular TFLN or Sexting meme

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

I'm very much here for combo memes rather than separating gen, shipping, and smut. the biggest example I can think of are the memes that repeat with little difference: one line prompts, reverse prompts, picture prompts, etc. I don't see the benefit of having a shipping picture prompt meme versus a smut picture prompt meme (the code is even exactly the same). I think players could be responsible for saying what they want in top levels. maybe this would encourage more interaction too because people wouldn't be able to quickly dump a lot of characters and the specific info on what everyone is seeking might spark more replies.

also, I think we have a texting problem. already in feb, there are been 5 texting memes (I won't mention tfln because it always goes over captcha so obvs can't be combined): sunday texting, gen text, sexting, love letters/ship texts, texting picture prompts. texting is popular, and I'm also a big fan, but maybe we could slim it down to gen text versus sexting? I don't think there's anything keeping people from texting pictures to each other, so maybe combining standard text with "picture prompt" text would be smart. again, players could specify what they're looking for in top levels. might encourage more backtagging rather than waiting for the next one to pop up.

while i could agree with the combo of gen and shipping, the smut memes being separate are that way for a reason. people don't always get to rp in a bubble, and opening a combo meme that's gen and shipping will be less likely to have your kid/elder/boss/person on the bus that could be a kid beside you or just has delicate sensibilities from seeing an icon with their titties out or inappropriate material. you open smut memes at your own risk and know what measures to take if you need to take measures. shoving everything into one restricts people being able to access memes and rp easily.

to the texting, the problem is allowing the new memes that keep trying to slide in under the rules. the scheduled texting memes should really be all we need. sunday gen/midnight, tuesday sexting, friday tfln. it's the problem of someone trying to make picture prompt memes into texting memes or anything else.

i think my issue in general is that people want what they want when they want it, and so they come up with some creative loophole to force it a day or two ahead of time or just refuse to post in an older meme that serves their purpose. if people would actually link their shit in plurk/discords or go tag older memes, we might stop getting the same repetitive flood we've been getting that have made it so people just aren't checking. i used to check bs daily. now i'm here once every other week.

I'd really like to see memes combined that have obviously similar premises. We honestly don't need a heat/rut and an A/B/O meme when we can just have Heat/Rut with additional A/B/O options.

We don't need four variations of "secret affection" memes, etc, and we especially don't need the same batch of memes posted that get zero engagement but wind up getting posted because OP has a weird yen they can't just ask others for

maybe you don't need them or want them, but some people seem to still want the separation. they can play in them with all prompts, but there's no reason not to keep them as separate memes since they provide separate things. a/b/o is a trope that covers something that has its own world dynamic, including altered genitals and pheromones and a social class status. in heat and in rut is just boiling things down to pheromones and biology and wanting to mate. not to mention that the a/b/o meme allows for more gen scenarios and the aspect of exploring the difference in social class and the in heat and rut memes are just about smut.

like it or not, they provide different things and there's no need to mash them up into one meme just because you don't see a difference in them.

i loathe repeat memes but the nature of a/b/o does include some things that are squicks for a fairly substantial number of people that aren't included in the description of IH/R, so while you could theoretically state your prefs for which prompts you don't want (like no a/b/o, no mpreg, no altered genitals) in a combined meme, i get the sense that people who are uncomfortable with a/b/o would probably be happier to avoid being on a meme with it entirely

Smut should exist as separate entries imo, but there's no reason why gen and shipping can't be combined. The majority of threads veer towards shipping anyway so everyone can put in their prefs whether they prefer gen or ship.

Now there are memes that don't really need to be separate entries. Smut/shipping pics and reverse smut/shipping pics can easily be combined; same applies to one-line and reverse one-line ship or smut; the picture memes exist as combo entries already and it seems to work fine. Alternatively gen text and picture text can be easily combined as suggested by anon above.

That said I'm against having a separate smut TFLN since people mix in smutty texts already so I don't really see the point in making an extra entry for that.

i just want to see the 3 pregnancy fetish memes combined already. it seems like a way to circumvent the 'once every 2 weeks' rule.

"surprisingly gentle" and "wrapped around their finger" are the same meme. "surprisingly gentle" even includes the phrase 'wrapped around their finger'.
