no. this is not your fandom safe space. no one's making you come here. no one's making the people who do freak out over spoilers come here. all of the arguments on wg and rpa are just repetitive rehashings of the same crap and you can also stop going there if you don't want to see the arguments. this is an 'easily solved by you' problem. you being general.

actually yeah it is

mods don't allow spoilers and nsfw stuff on the body of the meme already

and every fandom space asks people to put spoilers behind a warning. plurk, tumblr, twitter, you name it. unmarked spoilers are frowned upon everywhere.

it takes you five seconds to write "spoilees in this thread". it's called fucking manners

not letting someone play in the comm for x days/weeks/months is not the same as some meme poster not putting spoilers in the body of a post that people will likely have to see when scrolling.

honestly, i'm getting real tired of this micromanaging stuff that keep coming up here. it's not the mods's job to curate your experience. if someone wants to play a spoilery character or play spoilers in a thread and your dumbass reads it, that's a you problem. you're the one that doesn't want to be spoiled. so avoid it until you see the thing you're worried about.

everyone says that. it's one thing to post spoilers the day of/day after a thing comes out. everyone will admit that's rude and uncalled for. yet there are still people that post stuff on wg and rpa that's spoilery and it doesn't get closed down or deleted. and stop changing the narrative. the rule is for nsfw images. not spoilery ones. you're just trying to wedge that in there as a precedent. it's not. read the rules yourself. it says nsfw has to be under a cut. it can clearly be in the body of a nsfw post. people who are excited about a new thing can go to bs and play the new thing. they should be allowed to. just scroll past it, ffs. stop being a goddamn karen.

i never said anything about not letting anyone play. if you are angry over something in rpa go fight with them.

all i asked for is the bare minimum: mark your top level for spoilers. that's it. if your character is a walking spoiler then you can write "spoiler name" instead of the name and go on with your life. it takes you the same amount to type.

the rule IS for spoiler images too. you can literally scroll up and see the discussion about the WW84 gifs. Mods didn't take them down because they were from the trailer, but if they had been spoilers they would've contacted the meme poster.

cry all you want. there is no curating this. marking nsfw and spoilers is basic internet manners, no micromanaging.

they may have, not definitively. You're talking like it's an established rule and it's not. it's not this thing you're trying to make it be, and people playing with spoilers in any fashion is not against the rules. it's nice if they warn for it, but it's certainly not required and it's definitely not breaking rules.

stay mad, i guess, because you are attempting to micromanage and it's stupid.

>people playing with spoilers in any fashion is not against the rules

i never said it was, i said it was a rule for the gifs. that is why i am here asking to add that rule. not because people should stop playing. Literally all i am asking for is people adding a warning to the top level. that's it.

it's not a rule for the gifs. it was brought up and it hasn't come to be a thing. if it's out long enough to be giffed, it's probably past the point of spoiling the first wave, and past that, you just have to know that you might run into spoilers if you're online. it's not a rule and it shouldn't be, especially in terms of 'making' someone add spoilers to their rping in a public comm. like i said, it would be nice if they did, but it shouldn't be a rule and it probably isn't after all this time for a reason.

for a site that prides itself on not giving in to censorship, there sure are a lot of people that want to slam some censorship rules up. some people warn. some don't. that's life, and there shouldn't be a rule about it. it's not a game. it's an open, public comm.

the fact you compared this to censorship tells me you are either a troll or an asshole. fuck off.

(Anonymous) 2021-08-13 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
or it tells me that you don't understand what censorship means and telling people they have to do xyz because 'i say so' and you want to make it a rule is... censorship. spoilers are covered by free speech, and dw's an american company, which means that free speech applies. like, educate yourself, karanon.

or both. could be both.

further pointing out that a rule for spoilers is going to cause crap anyway, because how long is something a spoiler? a week? two? a month? two? games have different timelines on when you can app something from new content, so there's no singular opinion on how long a thing exists before it's not considered a spoiler anymore. picking something is going to be arbitrary and it's going to piss one group off over another. so why pick at all?

ffs, it's not like people even play that much on bs anymore. you're not being spoiled for a whole movie over someone existing and playing tfln or arranged marriages. stop reading other people's rp if it involves a char/canon you don't want to be spoiled for. idkwhy you think that people need to curb their excitement because group a doesn't want to be spoiled. group a can either go consume the piece of media or avoid playing until they do. or just suck it up and realize they might see that so and so died or so and so exists in canon.
