Would it be okay to post in a "here's a great setting... NOW PLAY SMUT IN IT!" meme with a "I like this setting but I don't wanna play smut so let's ignore the smut part and just play gen in the setting" post? Like the setting/premise works/could stand on its own without the smut.

(Same for shipping, really, like for example there's a "Werewolf AU Shipping Meme", would it be okay to just play that as "Werewolf AU Meme"? Again, only for memes that don't need shipping/smut for their premises, like there's no room to play gen stuff on an incest meme.)

I know people will bitch about me behind my back if I do this, but are the mods okay with it?

I personally don't, but I don't know how successful you'll be in terms of others tagging in.

As the most recent poster of the Werewolf AU meme, there's a reason I made sure that there was an edit to add in that the wildcard encourages gen (or allows for it) and most of the prompts (barring heat/pregnancy) can be taken as gen/fluff. That's pretty much what most people use the wildcard option for.

People complain about ridiculous things, anon. But as long as you're not breaking the rules of the comm, all they can really do is complain. Play your gen if you want. Put in your top level comment that you'd prefer gen/ftb (or whatever your preference is entirely). There's no reason to have to wait for a just specific to your needs version of a meme to come out to play in. As long as the meme's not entirely directed towards smut (like blowjobs/pregnancy/etc), no one has any ground to stand on in terms of calling you out or bitching. Do you, anon.
