Respectfully, this post exists to speak to the mods. It is up to them if "what did you eat" and "what snacks are you eating" are different enough to violate the 2 week rule.

I think having one person post it allows for consistency and reliability. It's not about ownership but responsibility for completion of a task without confusion around who is doing it. Apologies that writing in a rush made that unclear.

respectfully, having one person posting anything engages in possessive and territorial behavior over public memes, and that's a really bad mind set to have on a public comm and open site like dw. i don't know if you've been here for long, but 'claiming' a meme isn't the mood of how this place runs. people repost thing, or post similar but not quite things. getting upset about it is going to wind up causing you stress and it's going to sit poorly with a lot of other people because memes are open property once you post them.

you should also notice that your claimed memes aren't getting a lot of play, so throwing them up every two weeks and being territorial over it are likely going to just put you in that group where people ignore/scroll past because it's going to be considered a nuisance meme. let people miss your memes and not see them for a month or two so when they crop up, they maybe feel more inclined to tag them as opposed to slapping it up like clockwork and being ignored. food memes just aren't that popular, so there's no need for it to be something claimed or to be petty over.

yes, it's before 2 weeks, but it's also a) not the same meme or premise, and shouldn't be barred from being posted just because it has food in it. there are plenty of texting memes that get passes because they're frequent and popular and 'just different enough'. plenty of memes get complaints here because they're a little too similar. the ones that actually are get deleted, and rightfully so. but someone opting to post a meme that also has to do with food isn't stepping on someone's toes, and the tone of torine was that only one person should get to post a food thing every 2 weeks and it should be the same person because ~reasons.

that's some dousing logic there over the covered in blood meme or any other meme that someone tries to lay claim to. at least dousing only demanded they be the only one to post the covered in blood meme, not also saying that h/c or sick day memes were 'too similar so they should be removed'.

i get it, anon. we're getting flooded with morons coming in and seemingly trying to kill things off with oversaturation. but if you actually read the meme premises of both of them, you'd see the only similarity is 'food'. that's just not a good enough coverage to say that only one meme is allowed. we're not doing the highlandering shit.

Trans person here; I don't think it's beyond saving. It'd be very easy to reword it and adjust the image so that it could include everyone. Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I understand you have concerns over the menstruation meme. I can see how some of the language and the image chosen can be changed to be more inclusive, but I would appreciate a little more clarity as to why it should be taken down over being edited.

Admittedly it's a personal opinion, and people can disagree with me and I am capable of scrolling past. I dont particularly see it as a meme that will get traction overall, however if the meme poster changes the issues regarding inclusion of transmen and non binary people, that's fine by me.

If they refuse, however, I don't think it should stay up.

I don't know what kind of response Torine has given to the mod who messaged them but at the moment the image and the prompts have been removed.

There is active playing going on in the meme and as they might not know about this discussion, I'm going to message them, and I'm also asking that no one deletes the meme before the players have had a chance to save their threads.

that is to say, maybe they had it open since 4 and didn't post until midnight, but they may want to update the time if they do that. the first post isn't until just before 12:30pst, but the meme post time is 4:30pm pst, which would be 7:30pm CST.

Hello, the comm settings are based on EST and the meme that was posted just before was posted at ~3:15am EST so while the time stamp is incorrect for when it was posted in reality, it was posted well after midnight EST. I will message the poster about updating the time stamp to avoid further confusion.

The time stamp has been corrected, but I also need to remind y'all that time zones outside the US exist and meme posters may be posting at 4:30pm in their time zone when it's 3:30am in EST.

which is fair, but it usually reads as the timestamp of the comm itself since i'm reading it on the comm and not from my reading list. so for it to read 4:30 (ish), they clearly had the tab open since then and posted it just after midnight PST, (since my time reading it on the open page itself reads 12:30 for the first comment), but on the comm page, the times posted are posted via EST. Which is why when it's 9pm my time (PST), and I see something pop up at 12am, i know it's just because of the comm being set to EST and i didn't lose 3 hours. as you can see, they fixed the time on their end, but now it reads 3 something am, since that's what it is EST.

i try to go by the comm time itself, especially around the 12/12 aspect.

It's still there but all the prompts and the image have been removed. I suggest leave it as it is. It's only been a few hours since I messaged the players and let them know they can save their threads before/if it gets removed. We don't know people's timezones. There is nothing left there that should offend anybody.
