I have a few ideas!

You lost your phone and someone else finds it meme.

You've ghosted someone and they're trying to find you meme.

A tindr/grindr-esque meme.

Things like that?

There's an existing tindr/grindr meme (linked meme is just one example) - so that's fine to post by itself.

The other two sound like they could work as prompts to the same meme - but also not necessarily a texting meme, but that's my two cents. I'm not sure they would work very well as individual memes.

If you want to start with existing options and tweak them see:

Phone Hell (which would have too much overlap in that version), and the craigslist missing connections meme.

I can't recall any mistaken identity memes with texting as an option - but it could easily be added, or the FML meme geared towards phone mishaps.

In general, though, is there a strict rule about when you're allowed to post texting memes, or is it a case by case basis sort of thing?

Not for texting itself - it's a popular concept so it comes up in different memes (besides the ones that are scheduled during the week, and why there are so many). A major factor is now different the premise it sets for players is.

We do have a minimum gap of 1 week as a cool down for all memes

There is some flexibility towards alternate versions of a meme going up if there have been a lot of one type already posted, (ex: generic/shipping oriented/smut oriented) but never more than a day. The timezone for the comm is in EST, though timestamps from people are affected by their own journal settings, so we do get occasional dates that 'jump the queue' with timestamps jumping back and forth.

Posting wise - how many end up playing in the meme, how well the concept plays out, as well as how burned out the playerbase is towards the meme/meme type are something to consider.

There's a courtesy "rule" of cutting long posts, if that's what you mean?

If there's a meme you'll like to see cut - you can contact the poster directly, or ask a mod to for assistance though that doesn't mean they'll change it.

There's already a reverse smut picture prompt meme up

The reverse meme is an exception that was put in place last month - it will go up once a month in the second week and will have no effect on the other regularly posted picture prompt memes

No more than one image would be great, too.

Which is why they posted out. The mods really need to have memes be submitted to a queue and randomly approve a few every day. Just because it's off the front page of its been a week doesn't mean it needs to be posted. We really shouldn't have more than 2-3 memes tops a day. People aren't rping because a new meme will be up in an hour or the same one will be up in a week. This is ridiculous.

I am sorry, I meant to put up a reminder yesterday but because of the holidays, I completely forgot. At least the meme wasn't posted in the early morning hours. I'll do my best to keep an eye on the time two weeks from now. It wouldn't hurt to have it posted still a little bit later.

Only thing I can add is that it wasn't up around 10:15 est time since I had a chance to check the comm during break.

But it's possible we could ask if anyone would volunteer to post it later during the day - even next week - considering how early it's gone up the past few weeks
