I did take down the unconventional couple post - since it came latest.

Just a possibility - would an "opposites attract" meme be broad enough to cover some of the shipping memes? Not saying it would encompass anything, but as a general umbrella option that could go up.

i'm game for more broad memes going up to encompass things. there are some instances where there's specifics, but for example, 'opposites attract' would be an umbrella that unconventional, grumpy and cheery, good vs bad and so on could fit under. it gets to be irritating when all the ones that could fit under it are posted in a clump, like it's someone going 'yeah, i like good vs bad, but i actually want grouchy vs cheery, not evil vs good, so i'll post that as well'. people want these specific things and they don't actually think about how much it floods the comms for other people.

i'm one of the people that really like the werewolf au meme, (and i like it when it's kept to a month or more between postings because i don't want it getting scrolled past out of annoyance), but i wouldn't think about posting it the day of or the day after 'the au meme' or 'in heat/rut meme' or even the 'abo meme'. i know they're not the exact same, but they're similar enough imo that it would annoy just like the flood of opposites meme.

not to say that i don't think there shouldn't be niche memes, but i really think pressing posters to double check before they post to see if there's something similar on the front page and to maybe wait a day would help. even if i'm about to post, i always go check to make sure someone hasn't slipped something in just before i hit post that doesn't fit the need of a meme i post. people trying to get just the right flavor and being selfish about what's on bs is what's making it be a scroll fest lately. there doesn't need to be five types of marriage memes on the front page, or five types of bodyguard/sworn to you memes or five types of soulmate/destined pairs memes. just wait a couple days, guys.
