for what it's worth, and you can discuss this with the other mods if you like, it doesn't generally have to HIT captcha within 24 hours. anything over the 4k mark is usually presumed to get there soon enough, so that or around the 4.5k mark is where people will throw one up. i've seen plenty of pre-captcha overflows go up, and i bet if you go back through some of the old ones, you'll see the paired original post hasn't quite hit 5k and most activity moves over to the new one.

I have removed this as there are other texting memes that can cover this scenario.

What's the difference between the one thing I like about you meme and the most attractive feature?

most attractive feature implies a physical characteristic, one thing I like about you is more broad?

I've removed the word me up meme twice in the past two days due to its overlap with other memes still visible on page one. Meme-posters, please check the two most recent pages as well as the round-ups before posting new memes. Thank you.

a few of us wish you hadn't. it was an active meme and the only meme i can see coming close to it is sixwordstories, and that's not at all the same in concept or context. deleting active memes is punishing players.

maybe it went up twice because it isn't actually that egregious an overlap..?

if it's being compared to the one thing i like about you meme (which is the closest thematic meme i could find on the first two pages) i feel like word me up has more flexibility in that it asks for the first word that comes to mind about the character, which can be positive or negative. it allows for a broader range of cr. just adding my two cents.

word up is more 'describe in one word the thing you like/want most in someone'. so that opens it up to anyone answering about any character. one thing i like about you is more 'i like your ass' or 'i like how you brush my hair when i fall asleep'. the two don't cross in terms of context any more than the word association meme does with the word up.

i for one would appreciate a less broad umbrella, particularly when the result is ongoing memes being deleted.

please stop deleting active memes.

respectfully disagree. the actual verbiage of the word me up meme is "others supply the first word that comes to mind about your character, whether they've known you for years or just laid eyes on you for the very first time!" the first word. it has nothing to do with describing something your character likes about theirs.

it’s probably the “what i see in you” meme, tbh. pretty much the same concept but may or may not come in one word flavor.

If you are referring to commenters on this page, well... We will freeze comment threads when they go too far and I have on many occasions told people to knock it off. It may be hard to find those occasions now due to the absolute flood of comments reporting similar memes. I have also asked people to stop reporting those memes so much. But if someone shows their whole ass by spewing a manipulative diatribe at us because I asked y’all to do your tags instead of reporting similar memes, we’re going to have to agree to disagree on what exactly bullying is.

I realize you're not going to do anything about this because you said the quiet part out loud and explicitly said you're not going to do anything about reports (by using the word "productive", not the phrase "more productive", you admitted that reporting isn't "productive" AT ALL. And the only reason reporting wouldn't be "productive" is because you've resolved to ignore them. Congratulations on vastly overestimating the amount of "energy" it takes to report, by the way!) but...

Like it's pretty clear the person posting fmk (and it IS the same person, "buckynats") is just posting it every 2 weeks on the dot without even looking at mod posts or what memes have been posted recently. But nooooo, the problem is clearly the people reporting "would you fuck my character in a house, would you fuck my character with a mouse, would you fuck my character on a train, would you fuck my character in the rain, THESE ARE ALL TECHNICALLY DIFFERENT MEMES SO I'M NOT BREAKING THE RULES NYAH NYAH" memes, not the posters themselves. Way to shoot the messenger! Like just come out and tell us "no we're going to let the constant "would you fuck me" memes slide, we like them" instead of stringing us along. That would solve this issue, you'd get people to give up and stop begging you to enforce your own rules.

(It's not even the content of the memes I'm concerned with! this person comes to smutty memes to write about how much their character doesn't understand euphemisms, and plays against said smut meme. they're doing this to smut memes specifically, is there anything that can be done about them?

legitimate question as a meme poster: i know that if we post memes where we warn that top levels that are left blank might be deleted, we can delete any top levels that are clearly not abiding by the rules of the meme, but i'm questioning if we're allowed to delete top levels that are clearly not following the spirit of the meme. full transparency, this is in regards to the recent comment about a certain player being kind of a buzzkill troll by going into smutty memes and playing anti smut in a really passive aggressive way with their comments. this is also the same player that made a backhanded comment to the meme poster that posted the body heat comment.

i'm not asking to ban them entirely. they might be able to learn to play nice, idk if you want to talk to them about that or not, (people have messaged them and gotten somewhat passag comments back from them), but i want to clarify if a meme poster would get backlash if they post a smut meme or shipping meme and this player posts a clearly not like the other players type anti-ship/smut top level.

if they're doing it on their own top level and not harassing others outright, I think the best thing to do is ignore them personally. they're feeling sanctimonious about their play style and the more they get ignored the sooner they leave
